OnePlus Ace 2 coming with a dedicated power management chip for its 5,000 mAh battery

OnePlus is launching the Ace 2 in China next week, and we are pretty confident it is the same as the OnePlus 11R, arriving on the international scene at the same time. Today, the company shared more details about the upcoming phone with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

In a series of posts on Weibo, OnePlus revealed the Ace 2 will come with an Oppo SuperVOOC S power management chip and will also have a separate chip for image rendering and refresh rate, offloading some of the work from the Qualcomm SoC.

The Ace 2 will also have a 5,000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging.

OnePlus is advertising the new phone as a “three-chip powerhouse” with longer battery life, impressive graphics and the given premium performance from the Snapdragon. Users will have greater control over how the battery capacity is used, and internal tests are pointing to four-year durability, which in practice means 1,600 full charges and discharges, and keeping the capacity at over 80% after that.

The major difference between the Ace 2 and the 11R is how the UI will be called - in China, it adopted the ColorOS 13 way, while the global version will bring OxygenOS. The phone/s look like the OnePlus 11 flagship with one main difference - there is no Hasselblad branding on the back, so the image processing should be a tad less impressive.
